We have chosen to use the Automation API to fully automate our portal publication process, including updating and processing datasets and metadata. By reducing the need for human intervention, the API means we only need to spend 4-5 hours per month on maintenance and configuration, a minimal amount for a portal of Elia’s size, which covers over 130 datasets and 50 million daily data points. The Automation API saves us at least 8 full days of time every month for our data teams. In addition to saving time and significantly reducing errors, the API empowers business teams by actively involving them in adding new data, one of the few remaining manual tasks on the portal. It also optimizes the efficiency of our data teams, who can focus on supporting the business, rather than spending their time on basic administration.
