Dormagen adopt a proactive approach to open data

While no regulatory requirement compelled Dormagen to publicly share its data, the mayor and his team recognized open data as an opportunity to improve public services and increase accountability. It needed a solution that could:
- Be easily managed by a single person from the IT department
- Successfully engage citizens in public policy choices
- Allow Dormagen to experiment with data
As we couldn’t afford to allocate a great amount of human resources to the project, we were looking for a timesaving and easy-to-handle platform. Not only does Opendatasoft provide this, but it also allows us to shape the data in any form we need thanks to its many filters and visualization options.
